PROJECT OVERVIEW
Excal Dental Clinic is a thoughtfully designed, minimalist dental space located in Vadodara. The clinic embodies a welcoming and familiar environment, catering to the comfort and emotional well-being of patients. The design reflects a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, ensuring a calming atmosphere for both patients and staff.
Design Philosophy
To create a warm and soothing ambiance, natural materials like wood were extensively used in combination with a neutral palette of white and glass elements. The ceiling, a key focal point, features a geometric and rhythmic design, enhancing visual interest and unifying the waiting and examination areas. This thoughtful detail ensures patients have an engaging visual experience, especially during dental procedures when much time is spent looking upward.
Waiting Area:
The waiting area is designed to encourage positive interactions with patients. Smile emoji faces are incorporated as playful, cheerful elements, setting a relaxed and friendly tone. Comfortable seating with wooden laminate finishes complements the space’s minimalist style, while glass partitions provide a sense of openness and clear visibility into the treatment rooms, fostering transparency.
Examination Rooms:
The examination rooms are simple yet modern, featuring full-height glass partitions for an unobstructed view and seamless flow of natural light. The use of neutral tones in the furnishings, along with wooden accents, ensures a calming and hygienic environment.
MATERIALS & FINISHES
- Flooring: Durable and hygienic vinyl flooring in a light neutral tone for easy maintenance and cleanliness.
- Walls: A mix of white-painted surfaces for a clean look and wooden laminate panels for warmth.
- Partitions: Glass partitions with aluminum framing for clear visibility and an open layout.
- Ceiling: A unique geometric rhythmic design created using wood panels and concealed LED lighting for visual interest and an engaging patient experience.
Lighting Design
- Ceiling Lighting: Concealed LED strip lighting integrated into the geometric ceiling design for a soft and rhythmic glow.
- Ambient Lighting: Recessed downlights throughout the space to ensure bright, even illumination, meeting the clinical standards for dental procedures.
- Accent Lighting: Indirect lighting in waiting areas to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
- Natural Lighting: Full-height glass partitions allow natural light to flow freely, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.
