PROJECT OVERVIEW
SM Design Studio was commissioned to design a modern and contemporary office space for Narmada Industry, a company specializing in wooden packaging solutions. The office space was designed with a focus on an open, airy environment with ample natural light. The client’s specific requirement was to create a functional office layout that included Director Cabins, Sales, Accounts, and Service areas, all while incorporating sustainable materials, particularly the company’s own pine wood.
Client Requirements:
- Open Space Concept: Spacious, interconnected areas with plenty of sunlight.
- Director Cabins: Two separate cabins with a view of the office and sunlight.
- Sales Area: Well-designed area for sales teams.
- Account & Service Areas: Dedicated spaces for accounting and service departments.
- Rest Area & Washroom: Quiet area for relaxation and a functional washroom.
- Material Usage: Preference for the use of pine wood (from the client’s manufacturing) in key design elements.

Design Features
- Partition: An open space with an MDF groove pattern partition in gray, offering a clean and minimalistic entrance.
- Ceiling: The use of pine wood from the client’s manufacturing is a central element, giving a warm and rustic feel to the space.
Ground Floor:
- Partitions: Clear glass partitions framed in metal to separate workspaces while allowing visibility and the flow of natural light.
- Tables: Italian stone tabletops, paired with plain colors and veneer accents, to offer sophistication and functionality.
First Floor:
- Staircase: A sleek metal staircase with full-height square pattern railings. The design integrates a multi-color application, bringing vibrancy to the office. A window grill adds a security feature while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
- Rest Area: Wooden platforms with woolen carpets create a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Wooden veneer ceiling enhances the natural ambiance.
Seating:
- Custom Furniture: Seating is designed using the client’s own wooden box materials, providing a sense of continuity with the brand’s identity. Small wooden sculptures accent the seating areas, adding artistic elements to the space.
Exterior:
- Windows: Large, expansive windows framed in box-style framing. This design allows for plenty of natural light to flood the interiors.
- Exposed Brick: Rustic textures are incorporated into the exterior, complementing the natural materials used inside.
- Staircase Area: Full glass elevation in the stairwell allows abundant sunlight, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere.

- MDF Grooved Partition: Adds texture and visual interest while maintaining the overall minimalistic aesthetic.

OVERALL IMPRESSION
What makes this residence compelling is its restraint. There is no single overpowering gesture—instead, the home reveals itself gradually through proportion, materiality, and light. It is an interior that ages gracefully, designed not for momentary admiration but for enduring everyday life.
